SRINAGAR, June 10: Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) Teachers’ Forums today appealed Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Tara Chand to raise their issues in the Cabinet meeting.
The ReT body met the Minister and officials regarding their demands like inclusion of five years service and transfer policy.
“DyCM assured us that transfer policy will be framed likewise male teachers will be transferred within zone and female teacher within district,” Farooq Ahmad Tantray, ReT State president said.
He said that the inclusion of five years as ReT into the service records was their longest demand, as it would help them in future for seniority benefits.
An apex body of Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) Teachers’ Forums of Jammu also appealed Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand to raise these important issues in Cabinet meeting.
ReT Forum State president, Jammu Division, Vinod Sharma said the decision would benefit eight thousand teachers who have been playing an important role in providing primary education in remotest areas of the State. “We have played an important role in opening new schools, increasing literacy rate and minimizing dropouts in far flung areas of the state,” he said.
