457 COVID cases in Valley

SRINAGAR, Sept 3 : Kashmir reported eight COVID- 19 deaths today including a retired ASI of police and 457 new COVID-19 cases taking J&K tally to 39943.
The victims include a 70-year-old man from Mazahma in Magam area of Budgam district, a 68-year-old man from Budgam, a 45-year-old man from Lolab in district Kupwara, a 40-year-old woman from Chanapora in Srinagar, an 85-year-old woman from Rajbagh in Srinagar, a 60-year-old woman from Deethu Shangus in district Anantnag, a woman from Gingal in Uri area of  Baramulla district and a 65-year-old, a retired Assistant Sub Inspector of Police  who died on way to hospital in Srinagar after being referred  from Baramulla.
With these deaths, 745 people have died in Jammu and Kashmir due to COVID-19 so far. Among them, 666 are from the Valley.
Kashmir today reported 457 new COVID-19 cases.
Srinagar district with 228 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 101, Budgam 64, Anantnag 52, Pulwama 55, Kupwara 51, Kulgam 37, Shopian 8, Bandipora 26 and  Ganderbal 24.
As per officials figures, 9,636 positive cases including 228 deaths and 8,038 recoveries are from Srinagar, 2,876 including 101 deaths and 2,290 recoveries are from Baramulla, 2,733 including 2,225 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Pulwama, 2,644 including 1,948 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Budgam, 2,416 including 52 deaths and 1,858 recoveries are from Anantnag, 2,284 including 1,532 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Bandipora, 2,166 cases including 1,532 and 50 deaths are from Kupwara, 1,961 including 1,783 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Kulgam, 1,731,including 1,606 recoveries and 28 deaths are from Shopian and 1,578 including 1,117 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Ganderbal.
Moreover, 576  more COVID-19 patients recovered and were discharged from various hospitalsin Kashmir.
Out of 1,012,892, number of samples tested negative stood at 972,949 while 39,943 have tested positive, among them 8,441 are active and 30,759 persons have recovered.
