POONCH, Sept 29: The retired Police personnel have urged upon the State Police authorities to provide assistance to the needy retired policemen.
In a meeting of the Retired Policemen Welfare League Poonch, held here today under the chairmanship of Surkit Singh Sudan today, the speakers urged upon the DGP to address the issues of the retired cops. It was requested that for the ailing retired cops Ambulance facility be provided from DPL Poonch for shifting them to Jammu. All the cops undergoing treatment at Police Hospital be provided facility of free tests. For cancer and heart patients either treatment should be free or they should be provided assistance from Police Welfare Fund. Financial assistance of Rs 20,000 be provided to the family in case of the death of a retired Policeman. They also demanded 15 % reservation for the wards of Policemen for recruitment in Police department. They also demanded enhancement of Medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 for the retired cops.
