MENDHAR, Sept 29: Ten policemen were injured when a Tata 407 police vehicle met with an accident near Uchhad in Mendhar area of Poonch this evening.
The mishap took place at around 5.20 pm when the vehicle carrying reinforcement to Mankote anti-terrorist operation site went out of control and turned turtle near Uchhad on Poonch-KG-Mendhar road. The injured were rushed to Mendhar hospital by SHO Anzir Mir and his team in police vehicles. Two seriously injured Inayat Ullah SGT and Constable Nissar Ahmed were referred to District Hospital, Rajouri.
The other eight injured were identified as Head Constable Showkat Hussain, Constable Mehmood Ahmed, Constable Shabir Ahmed, SGT Mohd Siaf, Mohd Iqbal SGT, Zahir Abbas HC, Const Tariq Ahmed and SGT Naseeb Khan.
