UDHAMPUR, Dec 30: Retina care services were started today in KLSM Rotary Eye & ENT Hospital Udhampur during a simple but impressive function.
Rotarian Sushil Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion, while chairman, Udhampur Rotary Eye & General Welfare Foundation, DN Sharma and president, Rotary Club Udhampur, Puran Lal Sharma were also present.
Dr Ankur Goel presented the significance of Retina care services in Hospital. He informed the guests that the Retina care services was sponsored by Rotary Foundation of Rotary International, Rotary district 3070, 3131, 6650 USA, 2770 Japan under Global Grant No 1637281. The project was started in November 2017.
He further informed that at present this specialty is not available in Jammu region and patients have to travel away from J&K for their treatment. He said that their hospital will provide these services at very affordable cost and even free of cost for those who cannot afford.
The chief guest, in his address, assured his full support to the organization in future for “Gift of Life” and “Gift of Sight” so that poor people of the area may not lose their vision for lack of eye care facility.
