JAMMU, Dec 13: Independent candidate from Suchetgarh constituency and retired SSP, Bhupinder Singh, today released his manifesto for the border constituency in public functions held in Gharana, Sai and Bajachak villages.
Speaking to the people, he disclosed that he had been touring the border constituency regularly for the last 400 days and therefore got a chance to interact with all the villagers. “During such interactions I found that the people of Suchetgarh are fed up with the existing crop of leaders as they go missing after the polls so much so that many villages didn’t get to see such leaders”.
He also attacked the political parties for imposing unwanted candidates on people, who are already disgusted with their performances in the past. He appealed to the people to vote for him as an independent candidate and presented a list of points in his manifesto.
Terming his manifesto as a “Vachan Patra”, which is in the shape of an invitation card, he promised that he would dedicate the entire sum of approximately Rs 8 crore of MLALAD (CDF) funds to the people of Suchetgarh for deciding about its utilization. He vowed to set up an office of the MLA, in the constituency, which would function on the lines of any other Government office, without any laxity, where grievances of the people will be heard.
He further promised to launch a toll free number for the people of Suchetgarh for getting easy and free access to the MLA, on the lines of the railway enquiry or the Police Control Room. Among other important promises made to the people of border belt include a fixed monthly honorarium per family for those who get affected by the intermittent cross border firing.
Mr Singh assured people of an honest, accountable and responsive MLA and urged upon them to see the profile of the candidates before voting as this opportunity comes once in six years and requires conscious thinking.
The people of villages appreciated the manifesto presented by Mr Singh and extended their full support to him.
