Retd SRTC workers stage protest demonstration

JAMMU, Oct 6: Members of All J&K SRTC Retired Employees Association held protest demonstration at Exhibition Ground near Press Club here today.
The VRS given workers of the State Transport Corporation under the leadership of Dev Raj Bali assembled near the Press Club today and started protest demonstration. They were raising slogans against the State Transport Department and the management of the SRTC.
Mr Bali while talking to the media-persons alleged that pending dues of the Corporation workers have not been cleared by the SRTC management while the fact is that Finance Department has already issued the order No. OM. A/Misc (2012)-P 1038 dated 28-8-2012 and the J&K SRTC management is not implementing the same.
The Association members pointed out that SRTC management was projecting profit being earned by the SRTC in the meeting of Board of Directors but the retired employees were being told that they had no money to clear their dues.
He demanded that VRS given workers of the Corporation be given 6th Pay Commission arrears and 126 slabs of Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) besides other pending arrears since 1999.
Prominent among others present included Surinder Singh, Balwinder Singh, Balbir Chand, Ashok Kumar, Tarlok Singh, Ghulam Nabi, D N Sharma, B V Sharma, Ahsan Elahi and Surjit Singh.
