JAMMU, Dec 3: Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum staged a protest in Jammu today to press for implementation of 7th Pay Commission and de-linking of their salary from Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
A number of teachers, led by senior vice chairman of the Forum, Bhupinder Singh, assembled near Press Club Jammu and staged a protest demonstration. The protesting teachers said that the Advisor to Governor Khurshid Ganai had announced the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission in August but there was no implementation of the announcement.
They also demanded regularization, time bound promotion and de-linking of their salaries from MHRD and release of pending salaries.
“These all genuine demands should be fulfilled. There should be a road map to delink our salaries from MHRD and absorb us in State budget,” said Bhupinder Singh.
The protesting teachers threatened to go for continue protest at Jammu if Governor’s Administration fails to issue formal order of 7th Pay Commission in favour of 41thousands Teachers and Masters in next SAC meeting.
Those who address the protest demonstration, included Ninu Lata, Pritam Dhimaan, Druv Singh, Ishaq Rashid, Mohd Hafeez Bhat, Kuldeep Katoch, Kamal Singh, Samina Kousar, Ashwani Sharma, Surjeet Singh, Parbhat Singh, Sanjeev Guleria, Angrez Singh and others.
