UDHAMPUR, Nov 1: Monthly meeting of All J&K ReT Teachers Forum was held today at Krishna Palace Udhampur, under the chairmanship of State president Vinod Sharma and district president Lekh Raj Parihar, who threatened stir for release of pending salary and Mid-Day Meal dues.
The meeting was attended by executive members of ReT Forum from all the 11 Zones of the district, who discussed various issues and demands of the RETs.
Speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma lambasted the Education Department for its casual approach to resolve their issue of regularization of ReTs who have completed their 5 years period one and half year back but their files are gathering dust in the offices on the name of verification. He further said the ReTs under SSA are without salary for last 4 to 6 months and the Government is sleeping over the matter without doing anything except making hollow assurances in this regard. Same is the case with Mid-day-meal dues and the teachers have been managing food from their own pockets and by taking loans, he added.
The Forum president threatened to launch State-vide protest if SSA Salary and Regularization orders are not issued before forthcoming Diwali.
During the meeting, Bhupinder Singh was nominated as State vice president of ReT Forum after consultation with executive members of the Forum.
Others, who also spoke during the meeting, included Sukhdev Singh, Ashok Seth, Sham Sharma, Sukesh Khajuria, Pritam Goswami, Anil Sharma, Ajaz Wani, Mustafa, Vandana, Rekha, Vipin Sharma and Suresh.
