BANIHAL, Jan 9: National Conference leader and District President, Ramban, Sajjad Shaheen has expressed grave concern over slow pace of restoration work of roads, electricity and drinking water supplies after the recent snowfall in district Ramban, particularly in Banihal Assembly constituency.
Mr Shaheen urged the LG’s administration to carry out restoration of utility services on war footing basis so that the people are provided basic necessities and other essential services on immediate basis.
Shaheen said the road connectivity to Khari-Mahu Mangit, Bawa-Trigram, Banihal-Mangit and Chamalwas-Neel road is yet to be restored even after five days of snowfall and the delay in clearance of snow and landslides from roads has badly impacted the mobility and added to the miseries of the people. He particularly referred to the blockade of Khari -Mahu Mangit road, Banihal-Mangit road and Chamalwas-Neel road, saying no serious effort is being made to restore these roads.
Mr Shaheen also sought adequate stocks of rations at sale outlets so that they people do not suffer.
