JAMMU, Jan 21: Various Sikh bodies have appealed to the Union Government led by Narendra Modi to restore statehood to the J&K.
In a meeting of various Sikh bodies held under the leadership of Mohinder Singh, chief organizer, Bhai Kanahiya Nishkam Sewa Society J&K, the members of various Sikh organizations demanded that statehood be restored to J&K without any more delay.
They also demanded that a Sikh Advisor to the Lt Governor be appointed. They furher demanded immediate release of top political leaders of various parties including Dr Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti etc besides Rs 30 lakh package per family of DPs from POK.
Members of the prominent organizations present in the meeting include- Shiromani Akali Dal J&K, Sikh United Front, Sikh Student Federation J&K, Sikh Welfare Society, Sikh Naujawan Sabha, Shiromani Youth Akali Dal, Istri Akali Dal and some members of DGPC Jammu.
