Restore statehood, protect job, land of J&K people: Ashok

KALAKOTE, Jan 6: Downgrading of J&K State to Union Territory is unfortunate and uncalled for J&K People said Ashok Sharma, Coordinator, AICC Vichar Vibhag and former MLA while speaking in a meeting on “Restore statehood to J&K with Land and Job Protection” organized by Block Congress Committee Kalakote, here today.
Former MLA said that the restoration of statehood with land and job guarantee is of imperative necessity. Unless a youth policy with futuristic approach having both short and long term planning is made and implemented, the unrest among the youth will continue increasing.
The BJP Government should cease anti-J&K, anti-youth, anti- farmers and anti- worker policies and stop for enriching the corporate houses forthwith, to ensure the social equality, democratic values and political stability in the country and J&K as well.
The meeting was participated by Som Raj Khajuria, Kashmir Singh and Hans Raj BCC presidents, Darbari Lal Councillor and Block Working  president Kalakote, Sethi Parkash general Secretary DCC Haji Abdul Haq, Haji Abdul Gani, Beli Ram, Darshan Sharma, Joginder Singh, Nitya Nand, Chander Mohan Sharma, Om Parkash and others.
Former legislator while speaking on the occasion said that the abolishment of state hood has shattered the spirit of decentralization besides being thwarted with threat to local languages, culture, coupled with apprehension of increase in crime rate and trust deficit. He said that the erstwhile state was governed by the laws made by the then Maharaja more specifically laws relating to land and jobs and the special status of the state was also because of them but BJP at the Centre without taking into confidence the people of erstwhile state snatched everything and degraded it into UT and divided in two parts.
He criticised the Union Government for humiliating the people of J&K and creating trust deficit. He explained the situation which has arisen due to mis-governance and corruption followed by downgrading of J&K State to UT.
The speakers urged upon the masses to enrol themselves in Congress by paying Rs 5 as fee for primary membership and become active member by enrolling 25 primary members. And by qualifying 4 such active members become Booth delegates, during on going membership drive for sustainable change.
