Restore rail, bus service to Haridwar: Shiv Sena

JAMMU, June 6: Shiv Sena Bala Sahib Thackeray J&K unit today staged a protest demonstration demanding bus and train services between Jammu-Haridwar so that ashes of the cremated persons may be immersed in holy Ganga.
Speaking on the occasion Shiv Sena J&K president, Manish Sahni appealed to J&K Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu to start special bus services to Haridwar.
He said that ashes of cremated Hindus who died during the ongoing nationwide lockdown are stored at various temples and crematoriums and to fulfill the rituals these needs to be immersed in holy waters of Ganges at Haridwar.
Sahni also said, if the bereaved families cannot be allowed to visit Haridwar for immersing the ashes due to present circumstances, then Shiv Sena should be given the ashes for immersion in Ganga.
He claimed that famous saint Swami Rajeshwara Nand Ji Maharaj, who did community immersion of Gujarat earthquake victims’ ashes, has assured to cooperate in this regard.
