Restore all suspended trains as per past practice: RPWA

KATHUA, Dec 6: Railways Passengers Welfare Association (RPWA), Hiranagar demanded restoration of the all trains on Jammu-Pathankote route which were suspended during the COVID pandemic as per past practice.
While addressing the media person, President of the Association, Vijay Sharma said that on Pathankot-Jammu route various trains were suspended during the COVID. “Now, the Railways restore the regular trains on the route but the passengers are facing problems as these trains don’t’ stop at various stations”, he added.
He asked the Railways authorities to ensure the stoppage of trains at Kathua, Hiranagar, Samba, Vijaypur and other small stations of Ajmer Sharief, Sealdah Express, Shalimar Express, Rajdhani Express, Sampark Kranti, Swaraj Express, Malwa Express, Begumpura Express, Andman Express, Garib Rath, Tata More, Bhatinda Express and other trains.
He has also appealed to rename the Hiranagar Station on the name of GL Dogra and opening of Railways Reservation Counter at Hiranagar to facilitate security personnel and local people. He has also demanded to develop the Railway Stations at Kathua and Hiranagar on modern lines.
Vijay Sharma asked the Railways Ministry to start work on additional rail line from Pathankot to Rajouri-Poonch and towards Kashmir connecting the border areas of Hiranagar, Samba, RS Pura, Akhnoor, etc.
He has also asked the J&K Government to restore the status of Hiranagar as District Headquarters.
Among other present were Chairman Ram Tirath. Ramesh Chander, Rakesh Sharma, Shanti Saroop, etc.
