Respect given by Modi Govt to Gujjars unprecedented: Arshad

JAMMU, Oct 5: Executive body member of the BJP and a Gujjar leader Arshad Chaudhary today said that the kind of respect that the Gujjar community has received in the Modi Government is unprecedented.
Addressing a press conference here today, Arshad Chaudhary said that he along with a delegation interacted with Home Minister Amit Shah during his Jammu visit and put forth the demands of the Gujjar community and the Home Minister assured that all communities in Jammu and Kashmir will be given equal importance.
Expressing gratitude to the Home Minister for promising not to make any changes in the 10 percent reservation given to Gujjars and for taking various welfare measures for the Gujjar community in the past two years, Arshad Chaudhary said Gujjar community like always will continue to work for nation building.
Stating further that the Gujjar community member has also been given Rajya Sabha membership which was never done before, Arshad expressed his high hopes in the current Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that Gujjars want a peaceful, prosperous and developed J&K and they are committed for that .
He added that under the leadership of Narendra Modi, India in general and J&K in particular has ushered into an era of development. “Gujjars and Bakerwal’s have always contributed to the nation building and have given ultimate sacrifices for this nation and shall continue to do so,” he asserted.
