PULWAMA, Mar 16: J&K Pradesh Congress Committee chief Vikar Rasool Wani said that `Haath Se Haath Jodo’ programme launched by the Congress Party was another initiative to connect with the people at Block level across the country. It is the Party’s endeavour to reach every house-hold and highlight their problems for resolution.
“Congress is a responsible and constructive opposition, it shall continue to oppose Modi Govt for rising unemployment, economic crisis, lack of development and also expose its (BJP) false promises and betrayals,” Wani said while leading the party march at Aglar Kandi Rajpura in Pulwama district of South Kashmir.
JKPCC chief rued that people in the country especially Jammu and Kashmir are confronted with the ugliest situation due to the policies adopted by Modi Govt, but the Congress as a responsible and constructive opposition shall make the BJP Govt accountable and answerable to people for betrayal and failing them on all counts.
Wani said Haath Se Haath Jodo programme is another people’s movement after Bharat Jodo Yatra which started from Kanayakumari and culminated in Kashmir sometime back. Congress shall continue to launch such programmes in future also to ensure that the grievances especially rising unemployment, price hike, economic depression and various other issues are highlighted. BJP Govt has closed its eyes and trying to build fake narrative when it comes to employment generation, development of people, price hike and various other pressing issues, besides the new dictatorial order which has come in the shape of property tax in J&K.
Wani alleged that BJP has made J&K a Laboratory where it is doing experiments from time to time to serve its vested political interests while abandoning people of their democratic rights after snatching everything they had. After realizing that it (BJP) has failed to achieve what it had expected after 5 August 2019, the demolition drive was started to divert the attention of the people from real issues, matter of the fact remains, people won’t change their opinion and never forgive BJP for what it has done in J&K, he added.
He questioned the delay in restoration of statehood and democratic rights despite assurances in Parliament by Modi Govt.
Senior party leader Ghulam Nabi Monga, Mohd Anwar Bhat, DCC president Fayaz Ahmad Dar, AICC Member Bashir Ahmad Khan and others also participated.
