Residents of Talli Morh object to installation of mobile tower

JAMMU, July 21: Citing the health reasons, the residents of Mohalla Talli Morh, Bhagwati Nagar Jammu have expressed resentment over a Mobile Tower being installed in their locality and demanded the concerned authorities to take immediate steps to stop installation work.
In this regard, the residents submitted a memorandum to Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Kiran Wattal here, today.
The memorandum says, “We the residents of Bhagwati Nagar, Ashok Nagar, Mohinder Nagar, etc of Talli Morh area, which is thickly populated have been put under great danger by allowing the installation of a Mobile Tower on the roof top of one of the houses of the locality. The installation of the tower will cause nuisance in the peaceful living of the inhabitants and will also prove to be against the environment and municipal norms.”
The memorandum says that the tower is a threat to the life of the residents of the locality, as the electromagnetic radiations emitted by the Tower give rise to many diseases like memory loss, cancer, thinner of skull in children, etc. Therefore, the concerned authorities should take immediate steps to stop installation work in the best interests of the inhabitants of the locality.
