DODA, Aug 20: The residents held protest against Jal Shakti Department for not proving regular drinking water.
A large number of residents hailing from Halran area of Sub District Thathri assembled near their village and held protest against Jal Shakti Department.
Amid slogans, the residents were demanding regular supply of drinking water.
While speaking, Sarpanch from Johra Khurd area of Halaran Kanchan Chandail said that they are facing manifold problems due to non-availability of drinking water.
“The matter was brought into the notice of DDC Doda and Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Department Gandoh, but nothing has been done till today”, she added.
Another protest said that despite repeated pleas to DDC Doda and the Jal Shakti Department, nothing has been done till today to provide regular drinking water.
The residents have to cover a long distance to fetch drinking water, but none from the administration is bothered about this, he added.
The protestors urged the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha to direct the concerned department for providing regular drinking water to the residents living in Halaran area of Sub District Thathri.
With the warning to intensify their protest, the residents dispersed from the spot.
