JAMMU, Dec 26: The lanes and drains in Ward number 25 of Bharat Nagar, Rehari Colony are full of filth and garbage, due to which the residents are facing manifold problems.
According to the residents of the area, the lanes and drains are not cleaned by the safai-karamcharis for the past over one week and a foul smell has polluted all the area.
They alleged that the safai-karamcharis appointed for cleaning the lanes and drains in the area are irregular and visit the area according to their wish, leaving the people on the risk of health hazard.
They said the residents asked concerned Supervisor to depute atleast half dozen safai-karamcharis in the locality but he did not deputed, which resulted into sufferings to the residents.
The residents appealed to the Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Jammu to look into the matter personally. He also urged him to make daily arrangements of collecting wastage from door-to-door so that none is compelled to throw garbage in streets and on roads.
