JAMMU, Jan 27: The 77th Republic Day of India was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour across Government offices, institutions and organisations in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, reflecting collective respect for constitutional values and national unity.
The Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board celebrated the 77th Republic Day at the Waqf Office, Jammu.
Chairperson Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi unfurled the National Flag in the presence of Board members, officers and staff. BJP State General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul attended as the Chief Guest.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Andrabi highlighted the constitutional values and the transformation of the Waqf Board into a self-sustaining institution.
Board Members Dr Ghulam Nabi Haleem and Syed Mohammad Haqani, religious scholars, socio-political activists and Waqf Board employees were present. Top performers of the year were also felicitated.
At the Divisional Commissioner’s Office in Jammu, Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar unfurled the National Tricolour and extended greetings to all present.
The celebrations were marked by the singing of the National Anthem led by students of Blooming Dale Public High School.
Senior officers and staff of the Divisional Commissioner’s Office and the Office of the Financial Commissioner Revenue participated in the programme, which concluded in a solemn and dignified atmosphere.
An impressive ceremonial programme was organised at the Divisional Commissioner’s Office in Kashmir.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, unfurled the National Flag and took the salute from a CRPF contingent.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo, Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Assistant Commissioner Central, DDP, CPO Srinagar, OSD to Divisional Commissioner and other officers attended the event.
Addressing the gathering, the Divisional Commissioner highlighted the historical significance of Republic Day, paid tribute to freedom fighters and urged officers to uphold integrity, dedication and democratic values while serving the nation.
The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board celebrated the 77th Republic Day with patriotic fervour at the Sports Complex, Katra.
Chief Executive Officer SMVDSB, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, unfurled the National Flag and took the salute of contingents of J&K Police, CRPF, NCC, Shrine Security and students.
Addressing the gathering, the CEO reaffirmed the Shrine Board’s commitment to pilgrim welfare and community development under the guidance of Chairman Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of J&K. Addl CEO, Jt CEO, CAO, Dy CEO, Asstt CEOs, SDM Katra, Commandant CRPF, SP Katra, officers of civil administration, police, Shrine Board staff and prominent citizens were present.
Jammu and Kashmir Bank celebrated Republic Day across its operational areas, with the main function held at the Jammu Divisional Office.
MD and CEO Amitava Chatterjee unfurled the National Flag in the presence of Executive Director Sudhir Gupta, Chief General Manager Sunit Kumar, General Managers and senior officers.
Addressing the gathering, he emphasized economic self-reliance as a national imperative and highlighted the Bank’s role in supporting entrepreneurship through Mission YUVA.
A blood donation and health screening camp was also organised as part of the celebrations.
Similar functions were held at the Bank’s Corporate Headquarters in Srinagar, where Chief General Manager Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat hoisted the Tricolour.
Central Bank of India celebrated the 77th Republic Day at its Zonal Office, Chandigarh, under the leadership of Arvind Kumar, Zonal Head.
Ram Kumar Yadav, Regional Head Chandigarh, Sandip Kar, CIA, and GK Bunty, AGM Panchkula, were present during the National Flag unfurling ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, Arvind Kumar highlighted the importance of the Constitution and democratic responsibilities.
Cultural programmes by staff and children added colour to the event, which concluded with felicitation of police personnel, armed guards and staff members for their dedicated service and contribution.
The Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, celebrated the 77th Republic Day at Media Centre Jammu along with Swachhta Pakhwara 2026.
The programme was held under the chairmanship of Ghulam Abbas, Director, CBC J&K and Ladakh, and attended by Dr Dilip Kumar, Regional Director IIMC Jammu, Ayushi Puri, Deputy Director CBC, Rajesh Kumar Malik, Ashwani Kumar Gupta, O P Maurya and other officers.
The event included flag hoisting, plantation, shramdaan, cultural performances and felicitation of officials for exemplary service. Speakers highlighted constitutional values, cleanliness, civic duty and the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
The State Council of Educational Research and Training J&K, Divisional Office Jammu, observed Republic Day with dignity and solemn pride.
The programme included flag hoisting, cultural presentations and addresses by Vinod Kumar Bhat, Dr Sanjeevani, Amit Kumar Bhagat, Dr Vandana and Joint Directors Shailesh Kumari and Prof Sindhu Kapoor.
Speakers underlined the importance of constitutional values, civic responsibility and the role of education in nation-building. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and appreciation for the organising team.
The Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA), Udhampur celebrated the 77th Republic Day with patriotic fervour.
ADGP and Director SKPA, Garib Dass, unfurled the National Flag and took the general salute of the parade contingents. Officers, staff members, trainee officers and their family members were present in large numbers during the ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, the Director highlighted the significance of Republic Day and recalled the sacrifices of freedom fighters.
He urged police personnel and trainees to uphold fraternity, brotherhood and the secular values of the Constitution.
Senior officers present included Rajinder Kumar Gupta, Rajesh Bali, Benam Tosh, Rakesh Sambyal, CPO, Sachit Mahajan and other officers.
Republic Day was also celebrated at Crime Branch Headquarters, Channi Rama, Jammu, where IGP Crime J&K Sujit Kumar Singh hoisted the National Flag in the presence of senior officers including Faisal Qureshi, Mohd Yousuf, Ramnish Gupta, Sanjay Parihar and Anwar Ul Haq.
The IGP lauded the dedication and professionalism of Crime Branch personnel and appreciated cultural presentations, parade contingents and Rangoli displays.
Similar patriotic celebrations were held at Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur, PTTI Vijaypur, NHPC Regional Office Jammu, SMVDSB Katra and J&K Waqf Board Jammu, reaffirming collective commitment to constitutional ideals, public service and national progress.
The Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI), Vijaypur celebrated the 77th Republic Day with enthusiasm and solemnity.
The programme was presided over by Principal Ranjit Singh Sambyal, and began with the National Salute followed by a march past by staff, trainees and school children.
Students from BBN Institute of Intellectuals, MV International School and Gandhi Memorial Academy presented patriotic cultural items.
The event concluded with a high tea for participants and dignitaries, reaffirming commitment towards constitutional ideals and service to the nation.
NHPC Regional Office, Jammu celebrated the 77th Republic Day with enthusiasm at its office premises. Executive Director Ram Swaroop unfurled the National Flag and led the gathering in singing the National Anthem.
Officers, employees, security personnel and family members attended the function.
Addressing the gathering, Ram Swaroop recalled the adoption of the Constitution in 1950 and paid tribute to freedom fighters.
He urged employees to work with honesty and responsibility for the growth of the organisation and the nation.

The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at Shram Bhawan, Jammu under the aegis of the Labour Department.
Labour Commissioner J&K S Charandeep Singh unfurled the National Flag and took the salute.

AIIMS Jammu marked Republic Day with solemn patriotism and reflection.
Prof (Dr) DN Sharma, Executive Director and CEO, AIIMS Jammu, paid tribute to freedom fighters and martyrs whose sacrifices shaped the Nation and Constitution, urging citizens to preserve freedom through discipline, duty and respect for constitutional values.
Prof Sharma recalled Mahatma Gandhi, Lala Lajpat Rai, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Sukhdev Thapar, Shaheed Shivaram Rajguru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Subhash Chandra Bose, while highlighting the contribution of unsung heroes like Batukeshwar Dutt.
He stressed that dedicated service by healthcare professionals is also a vital form of nation-building.
At the Directorate of Health Services Jammu, the Republic Day function was held with Dr Abdul Hamid Zargar, Director Health Services Jammu, as the Chief Guest.
He was received by Rajni Gupta, Dr Sanjay Sharma and Raman Sharma. The programme opened with a formal welcome address by Dr Simmi.
Dr Sanjay Sharma, Raman Sharma and Rajni Gupta addressed the gathering, followed by an inspiring speech by Dr Abdul Hamid Zargar stressing dedication and teamwork.
Cultural performances were presented and certificates were distributed. The vote of thanks was presented by Dr Sanjay Sharma.
In Poonch, Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour as Dr Parvaiz Ahmed Khan, Chief Medical Officer hoisted the National Flag at the Chief Medical Office, Poonch.
The tricolour was also unfurled at the District Tuberculosis Office, with officers and staff participating enthusiastically.
At District Hospital Poonch, Dr Parvaiz Ahmed Khan felicitated doctors and paramedical staff for exemplary service during Operation Sandoor.
Medical Superintendent Dr Mohd Shafeeq Choudhary, Deputy CMO Dr Ruby Naz and District Health Officer praised staff dedication and urged continued commitment to quality healthcare.
Republic Day was celebrated at JKMPCL Jammu Milk Plant where Chairman Ashok Kumar Angurana hoisted the National Flag.
The ceremony was attended by staff members of JKMPCL and was marked by patriotic enthusiasm.
Addressing the staff, the Chairman stressed discipline, dedication and honesty in service.
He also emphasized mandatory participation in national celebrations like Republic Day and Independence Day as symbols of unity and national pride.
The Agriculture Department Jammu celebrated the 77th Republic Day at Krishi Bhawan.
Director Agriculture Jammu Anil Gupta hoisted the National Flag in the presence of Ashwani Sharma, Sanjay Anand, Aman Jyoti Sharma and Sanjeev Rai Gupta.
Addressing officers and farmers, Anil Gupta highlighted departmental initiatives including HADP, SHGs, FPOs, PMFME, organic farming and crop insurance schemes.
Employees were felicitated and a cultural programme was presented by staff members.
The Sericulture Development Department J&K celebrated Republic Day at its Jammu headquarters.
Director General Ajaz Ahmad Bhat unfurled the National Flag and led the celebrations, which included the National Anthem and festive decorations.
Addressing officers and staff, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat emphasized strengthening rural livelihoods, mulberry plantation expansion and self-sufficiency in silkworm seed production.
Outstanding officers and sections were felicitated for their exemplary performance.
At the Directorate of Horticulture, Jammu, Director Horticulture Gul Syed hoisted the National Flag.
The ceremony was attended by Salil Gupta, Diya Mahajan, Randhir Singh Parihar, Satish Kumar, Anil Chibber and Dr Vijay Kumar.
Addressing the gathering, Gul Syed highlighted the significance of the Constitution and urged officers to work with dedication for horticulture development and farmer welfare.
The programme concluded with a collective pledge.
In New Delhi, the Jammu and Kashmir Resident Commission celebrated the national festival at Jammu and Kashmir House.
Additional Resident Commissioner Anil Sharma unfurled the National Flag, while a contingent of J&K Armed Police presented a guard of honour.
Officers and officials posted in New Delhi attended the function, which also featured a colourful cultural programme showcasing the rich heritage of Jammu and Kashmir.
Officials who rendered exemplary services were felicitated. A similar function was organised at J&K House, Chanakyapuri, with equal enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.
The Income Tax Office Udhampur celebrated Republic Day with Income Tax Officer Vijay Choudhary unfurling the National Flag.
Members of the Tax Bar Association led by Senior Advocate Rajeev Gupta, chartered accountants and tax professionals attended.
Children of the Aaykar Parivar holding the Tricolour added colour to the event. The programme included the National Anthem and patriotic songs and concluded with a high tea for all participants.
At the District Court Complex Reasi, Republic Day was celebrated as per High Court directions.
Principal District and Sessions Judge Khalil Choudhary unfurled the National Flag and addressed the gathering on the importance of the Constitution.
The programme was attended by Geeta Kumar, Pooja Gupta, Mehajbeen Akhter, Shivali Sharma, Aastha Sharma, Pawan Dev Singh, judicial officers, advocates, students and officials.
Trophies and certificates were distributed, followed by a vote of thanks by Pooja Gupta.
The Indian Institute of Public Administration J&K, Regional Branch Jammu also celebrated the 77th Republic Day with enthusiasm.
Chairman B R Sharma and Patron Dr Ashok Bhan unfurled the Tricolour and led the National Anthem.

Meanwhile, POWERGRID Northern Region Transmission System-II celebrated the 77th Republic Day at its township near Bahu Plaza, Jammu.
Shafat Ahmed Wani, Chief General Manager (AM), unfurled the National Flag in the presence of senior officials, employees and their family members, marking the occasion with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour.
In his address, Shafat Ahmed Wani highlighted milestones achieved by POWERGRID and appreciated employees for their dedication, especially those who worked in challenging conditions during recent monsoons.
A cultural programme was organised, winners of Republic Day competitions were felicitated, and similar celebrations were held across regional establishments.
The J&K Pahari Advisory Board organised a vibrant cultural evening to commemorate Republic Day, titled “Aj Ni Shaam, Bharat Tere Naam,” at the Government Boys Pahari Hostel, Jammu.
The programme was coordinated by the hostel boarders and meticulously organised under the guidance of Manzoor Sheikh, Warden, and Md Farid, Assistant Warden.
The evening featured a rich blend of patriotic songs and skits celebrating national spirit and Pahari heritage.
Renowned Pahari artist, under the guidance of Inayatullah from Anantnag, mesmerised the audience with soulful songs that vividly portrayed the culture, struggles and enduring hopes of the Pahari community.
The programme was graced by Sapna Kotwal, Secretary, Pahari Advisory Board, as Chief Guest.
In her address, she commended the hostel boarders and organisers for a splendid event that beautifully wove together patriotism and cultural heritage.
She said such vibrant celebrations reflect the heartbeat of India’s diversity and reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to preserving and promoting the unique cultural identity of the Pahari ethnic group while strengthening the bonds of national unity.
Adv Sanjeev Sharma and Adv Waqar Hussain Shah attended as Guests of Honour, while Dr Nitan Sharma was present as Special Guest. Other dignitaries included S Manveer Singh, S Amanveer Singh and Ishtabaz.
Sulabh International Social Service Organisation J&K celebrated Republic Day at Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. The National Flag was hoisted by Arjun Kumar in the presence of Sanjay Kumar Thakur, Honorary Controller.
Sanjay Kumar Thakur and Saroj Kumar Jha urged volunteers to work collectively with dedication. Members and volunteers of Sulabh International participated in the celebrations.
The Jammu and Kashmir Displaced Kashmiri Pandit Front also celebrated Republic Day.
President Vinod Pandita highlighted the significance of the day and urged youth participation in nation-building.
Vice President Vishal Jotshi, along with Ashok Kumar Koul, Vinod Bhat, M K Koul, Rakesh Kumar and Suraj Jotshi, emphasized harmony, brotherhood and national unity.
At Nyoma Sub-Division, Republic Day was celebrated at Government Middle School Nyoma. SDM Nyoma Kacho Asgar Ali hoisted the National Flag and inspected the march past, accompanied by SHO Nyoma.
March past contingents and cultural performances were presented by schools and villagers.
Outstanding employees were felicitated and prizes distributed to winners of march past and cultural competitions.
In Nubra Sub-Division, Republic Day was celebrated across tehsil and block levels.
The National Flag was unfurled by Tashi Jorgais at Sumoor, Mohammad Hussnain at Panamik, Habib Ullah at Khedoth Khaltsar and Abdul Rehman Ashoor at Turtuk.
March past contingents from government schools and cultural performances marked the celebrations, reflecting unity and national spirit across the region.
At Niabat Chumathang, Naib Tehsildar Tashi Chostak hoisted the National Flag. Villagers, community groups and students participated enthusiastically in the celebrations.
Addressing the gathering, Tashi Chostak stressed cleanliness, education and collective responsibility for holistic development.
The programme concluded with a message of unity and commitment towards nation-building.
