More reports of I-Day celebrations

JAMMU, Aug 18: More reports of Independence Day celebration by various organizations and institutions are still pouring in from different parts of the Jammu division.
Bharat Vikas Parishad, Bahu Branch, celebrated the Independence Day with great zeal and fervour at Shivaji Park, Trikuta Nagar Jammu. Chief guest Ramesh Sabharwal hoisted the national flag while children of Blue Bird Public School presented a colourful programme.
The function started with recitation of Vande Matram following which BVP State president Arun Kumar Sharma addressed the gathering.
On the occasion of Independence Day, Adbi Kunj held a special literary cultural and social function cum meet at its literary centre in the premises of Zee Pre Kidzee School (Shastri Memorial Higher Secondary School) Talab Tillo, Jammu. The participants threw light on the different aspects of the occasion and pledged to work for unity and integrity of the country while working for promotion of literary activities.
Independence Day was celebrated at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Shastri Nagar where the chief guest Indira Bhalla and Principal Farida Javed hoisted the national flag. National Anthem was sung by the staff members following which Principal Farida Javed briefed the students and staff about significance of the Day.
Bhaderwah Welfare Society, Bantalab Jammu celebrated 68th Independence Day with great enthusiasm at Ganga Nagar Bhaderwah Chowk Jammu. President of the Society, Bhag Singh Kotwal hoisted the national flag.
A grand function on the occasion of Independence Day was organized by Trust Naïve Heeds Udhampur. Chairman TNH, K K Sharma hoisted the national flag in presence of other members of the Trust.
Dream Land Public High School, Sial Jattan celebrated 68th Independence Day. The school chairman Om Parkash Sadhotra hoisted national flag while children presented cultural items.
Standard Institute of Education, Rown Dhar Road, Udhampur and Rural Model Diamond Public School Barta Ritti also celebrated the Independence Day by observing flag hoisting ceremony in their respective schools.
