Reorganised JMC will diminish 136 posts

JAMMU, May 13: About 136 posts in Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) will be diminished over a period of time, upon superannuation/promotion/resignation etc of the incumbents holding these posts as the case may be.
This was one among other decision of Administrative Council to which sanction has been accorded by the Housing and Urban Development Department of J&K government to reorganise JMC.
Also there will be creation of 43 Gazetted/Superior posts along with the creation of 218 Non-Gazetted/Subordinate posts in JMC while 108 Non-Gazetted/Subordinate posts shall be abolished.
A total of 1921 positions in JMC will now be filled through outsourcing and this will also include 225 Non-Gazetted/Subordinate posts which will be abolished.
Apart from this JMC will be filling up one post of Public Relations Officer by deputation from J&K Information (Gazetted) Service and one position shall also be filled through outsourcing while Safaiwalla shall be re-designated as Safai Saathi.
Further, the Direct Recruitment vacancies shall be filled up through a Recruiting Agency to be notified by the Government in the Housing and Urban Development Department separately.
In the interim, the JMC will be authorised to fill up these posts by outsourcing through a reputed outsourcing agency for a period of one year or till regular appointments are made, whichever is earlier, purely in the interest of Corporation.
