JAMMU, Sept 4: Sikh United Front, J&K today described the renovation of Jallianwalla Bagh in Amritsar by Modi Govt as historic step.
An emergency meeting of various Sikh organizations of J&K was held today under the chairmanship of S. Sudarshan Singh Wazir, Chairman Jammu Kashmir Sikh United Front (SUF). The speakers lauded the initiative of Central Govt and the inauguration of renovated by National memorial by Prime Minister, Narinder Modi which is a tribute to the martyrs and a symbol of inspiration for the generations of India. This monument will serve as a reminder of the peaceful democratic protest for coming generations.
“It is praise worthy that multiple development initiatives have been undertaken at the complex as Shaheed well has been repaired and restored with a redefined superstructure, the flame monument has been repaired and restored the water body rejuvenated as a lily pond and pathways are broadened for better navigability. In the renovation of Jallianwala Bagh National Memorial , Rs 20 crore has been spent, SS Wazir said.
SUF also lauded Chief Minister of Punjab, Capt Amrinder Singh for his recent announcement made to provide Rs 5 lakhs to the families of farmers who sacrificed their life during the democratic protest of farmers and jobs to one member of the deceased family.
Prominent among those who participated included- Raja Singh (DGPC Member), Darbinder Singh (SAD), Rajinder Singh (SAD), Mohinder Singh (BKNSS), Ravinder Singh (Sarpanch), Kulwant Singh (SAD), Charanjeet Singh (PCM), Gajan Singh (MTCA) and Prof Yudhvir Singh.
