Relief to security forces

Ministry of Home Affairs has taken a very good and laudable step in announcing that the jawans of security forces who are hospitalized for treatment of wounds suffered during action against the adversary or who are taken ill and are hospitalized, will continue to receive their normal salary during the period of their hospitalization. This will bring great relief to the personnel. It has to be noted that our security forces like CRPF, BSF, ITBP, SSB, CISF and NSG are engaged in combats with terrorists, Nasalizes, Maoists and others in different parts of the country. They face deadly attacks while defending the country. In addition, they are required to render service in inhospitable regions and in very harsh weather conditions. For example in sub zero temperature, jawans often catch cold, pneumonia, bronchitis and other diseases for which they have to be hospitalized and treated. So far, they used to lose their salary for the period of hospitalization but with the new regulations, they will get their salary in full. This decision goes in favour of the jawans who have been asking for it for a long time. We are happy to know that the Home Ministry has taken a very good decision and in all probability in future, more decisions like this will be taken that boost the morale of our jawans. We have to remember that our security personnel are rendering meritorious service to the nation. The threat of terrorism, subversion and other types of violence has not receded. Our enemies are keen to see the country in peril because of armed uprisings instigated by external agencies. It is the right step to provide all facilities to the security personnel that boosts their morale. The Home Ministry deserves kudos for this right step at right time.
