Relief material distributed among flood victims

JAMMU, Sept 23: Various educational institutions distributed relief materials among the flood affected victims, whereas Jammu Kashmir Police (JKP) carried out rehabilitation work in various flood affected areas.
The NSS volunteers of GCW, Udhampur presented a demand draft of Rs 10,250 in favour of Chief Minister Relief Fund was handed over to District Office, Udhampur alongwith relief material for the flood victims of Panchari Block in District Udhampur. An amount of Rs 13,170 was handed over to Reshma Devi, whose house got washed away in this natural calamity.
Bhartiya Shiksha Kender High School Domana donated flood relief material to the flash flood affected people of Jammu and Kashmir. The material was collected by the students, staff and teachers of the school. Students collected water bottles for flood affected people under the guidance of Vikrant Dogra, Hitesh Badyal, Vikas Dogra, Sandhaya Pathaniya, Principal of the school and Rajinder Singh, Chairman of the institution.
The NCC cadets of Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar along with Red Cross volunteers distributed clothes among the flood affected victims of village Surya Chak in Phalan Mandal.
DIG Jammu-Kathua Range Shakeel Ahmed Beig, accompanied by Mohan Lal, SSP Kathua visited the flood affected areas of District Kathua and distributed blankets and other relief material among 22 flood victim families of village Bhamwarban falling in the jurisdiction of Police Station Rajbagh, District Kathua.
Special police teams removed the mud from Kullas (hut) in Raipur Jagir area of Domana Police Station. The Police team also helped them in shifting their belongings in their Kullas (hut). The relief, rescue and rehabilitation team was headed by Inspector Naveen Angral and police team by SI Shamim Ahmad, Incharge Police Post Pouni Chak in presence of SDPO Domana Sanjay Parihar.
A special rescue and relief team headed by incharge Inspector K Chalotra along with police team led by SHO Satwari Inspector Suhail Rashid and police personnel from police post Phylian Mandial made Lachhanpur High School in Phillian Mandal flood affected area functional. The team also distributed various relief items to the affected people.
Nagrota police headed by SDPO Nagrota Khalik Choudhary with the assistance of DPL special police team today made Government Middle School Sitni, Nagrota functional.
A police team led by Inspector Kulbir Singh Choudhary, SHO Police Station Arnia and special team headed by Inspector Bhushan Singh Manhas distributed blankets among the flood victims of Panchayat Halqa Sai, Treva, Jabowal, Changia and Gujjar Basti near Aik Nallah in the jurisdiction of Police Station.
A Police team under the charge of Inspector Deepak Singh Jastoria, SHO Police Station RS Pura and special team headed by Inspector Abid Rafiqui alongwith conducted relief and rehabilitation work and helped people in rebuilding their residential accommodation in Joura Farm, Dewangarh, Chakroi, Chandu Chack areas. Blankets were also distributed among the flood affected people.
A special team deputed from DPL Jammu under the supervision of SHO Police Station Khour for relief and rehabilitation visited Doian, Gigrial, Sainth and Dhar Khour areas of tehsil Akhnoor and helped people in re-building their houses, which got damaged in recent flood.
A special police team from DPL today made the Government Higher Secondary School, Sunjwan and High School, Bathindi functional.
Cycle Pure Aggarbatis, Mysore organized a relief distribution camp at village Wazir Chack, Phylian Mandial and distributed 500 blankets and 500 sweaters among the flood affected victims.
