JAMMU, Sept 25: Relief material distribution continued in the flood-ravaged Jammu and Kashmir.
The employees of Jammu and Kashmir State Electricity Regulatory Commission (JKSERC) have contributed one day salary towards the Chief Ministers Flood Relief Fund for the flood affected people.
HoD, Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Indira Gandhi Government Dental Hospital Jammu Dr Akshay Gupta donated goods worth Rs 1,00,777 for Kashmir flood victims. Goods included 205 blankets, 420 sanitary goods and medicine worth Rs 50,777 were handed over to IGGDC flood relief team comprising of Dr Asif Iqbal, Umar Mukhtar, Qaiser Ali, Anjuman, Manzoor, Arif, Samina, Rezhat Ali, Shahrukh Khan and others.
Additional Director General of Police Armed, J&K, SM Sahai today said that Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police today organised several medical camps to provide free consultation and medicine to flood affected people of Srinagar city. The medical camps were organised at Tengpora, Forensic Science Lab (FSL) Bemina and Pamposh Colony Palpora Qamarwari Srinagar. During these camps experienced doctors from Fortis Foundation, Police Hospital Srinagar and Sub-District Police Hospital Zewan provided free consultation to the patients and distributed free medicine among them. The camps at Tengpora and Bemina Srinagar were organised by J&K Armed Police in collaboration with Fortis Foundation. The medical camp at Pamposh colony was an initiative of J&K Armed Police to provide medical care to poor and unreached flood hit corners of the city.
Udhampur police distributed 60 packs of relief material to the flood victims of Roun Ritti, Kooh Nalla and Barta areas of Udhampur. In order to monitor and accelerate the pace of relief process in a transparent manner, SSP Udhampur Mohammad Suleman Choudhary visited flood affected areas of village of Roun Ritti, Kooh Nalla and met the members of flood affected families. He was accompanied by Gourav Mahajan, DySP Hqrs Udhampur and Incharge Police Post Roun Domail SI Purab Singh who have been directed to extend maximum assistance to the victims of this natural calamity.
Indian Army in collaboration with District Administration Poonch organized relief distribution camp at Pritam Spiritual Trust, Poonch. On this occasion a wheelchair and a pair of crutches were given to two handicapped persons by Pritam Spiritual Trust. The major contributors for the flood relief camp were the ex students of Bombay College of Journalism, Pritam Spiritual Trust and 831 Light Regiment. Fifty flood affected families were given a package which consisted of utensils, blankets and ration. On this occasion the Arvind Kumar Sharma, ADDC Poonch, Colonel V Ravi Shankar, KK Kapoor, retd CEO, Maulana Mohammed Sayyed, Advocate Sanjay Raina and Priyanka Chatterjee were present. The event was co-ordinated by Pradip Khanna.
Rashtriya Rifles Battalion located at Gool, under Uniform Force organised a medical camp at Gool, Ramban District, today. The camp treated over 493 patients of a Mawal Kot, Dawah, Sangaldhan villages and areas around it. In addition to the medicines, necessary rations were also given to the people.
84 Battalion CRPF in collaboration with 126 Battalion CRPF organized a free medical camp at village Khelan, district Reasi. The people were provided with essential medicines. A team of doctors including Dr Mohammad Lateef Khan, CMO 126 Bn CRPF, Dr Bilal Ahmed, Asstt Surgeon and Dr Minali of District Hospital Reasi along with para-medical staff of 84 Bn CRPF and 126 Bn CRPF carried out free check ups of more than 500 people. UP Singh, Commandant, 126 Bn CRPF, DV Thomas, Second in Command, 137 Bn CRPF and incharge of 84 Bn, Ashok Satwani, DC, 126 Bn, SK Sharma, DC and SI/GD Surender Singh of 84 Bn were also present.
The relief was distributed to the flood affected families in various villages in Samba in the shape of ration, fodder for Livestock and clothing etc. by Mubarak Singh, District Development Commissioner, Samba. The relief distribution camps were organized in various villages ‘viz’ Kamore, Sumb, Goran and the relief was distributed to the affected families. Shri Bhagwan Mahavir Swami Jain Saiva Kendra, Mumbai, Bardhman Sanskar Dhaam, Shri Atmanandh Jain Sabha, Patel Chowk, Fattu Chowgan, Sahasana Parshavnath Public Charitable Trust, Surat, Akhil Bhartiya Sanskriti Rakshak Dal, Ahmedabad, Surat, Joint Group of Chopati, Mumbai have come forward to extend help in the shape of providing ration in family packs in affected villages ‘viz’ Kamore, Kamore Camp, Barota, Nanga, Rangoor, Sumb, Goran, where the agriculture land has been completely devastated and crops fully damaged. Besides this, the free ration for six months announced was also being distributed to the affected families.
Rotary Club SIDCO Bari Brahmana distributed relief material to more than hundred people at Adda Sarore, Bari Brahmana. The relief item includes blankets, clothes, flour, pluses and other eatable items. The club members assured the flood affected victims that the club would provide all possible help to them. Club members who were present during distribution of relief material are club president Jai Ram, Secretary Rajan Badyal, Ex-President Mahinder Gupta, Romesh Badial, Kewal Gupta, Ved Parkash Verma, Baldev Sharma, Ravinder Sharma and Ram Ji Langer.
Love Care Foundation a Delhi based organization has distributed relief among the effected people in flood hit areas adjoining Niki Tawi area in Jammu. It also distributed relief in Akhnoor, Reasi, Rajouri etc. where thousands have been affected by brutal water.
Foundation in collaboration with the Indian Food Bank which has not only donated relief material but also are working hand in hand with its team in restoring smiles on the faces of people in the need of hour has distributed relief among flood hit people in various parts of State.

Food packets, water, medicines and tents are being distributed with the help of Kuldeep Sidha, Asstt. Commissioner Development In and around Jammu and Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad in Kashmir to all the affected areas.
