MUMBAI: Navi Mumbai police have claimed to have crack a case of data theft of Reliance Jio customers within 48 hours by arresting one person from Rajasthan.
Police here said, ”A person in Rajasthan was arrested yesterday in connection with data theft of Reliance Jio customers by the team of five investigating officers. He will be brought to Navi Mumbai on transit remand.”
The name of the alleged person was Pintoo Chimpa, a prime suspect in data theft case.
Last Monday, a case against a private website was registered with the Rabale police station for putting personal data of the Reliance Jio customers in the public domain. The police have registered a case under sections 389, 43 and 66 of the IT act, they added. (AGENCIES)
