UDHAMPUR, Mar 2: Senior vice president of Water Works PHE Employees Association and district president INTUC Udhampur unit, Som Nath has urged upon the Governor’s Administration to release the pending wages of 5 years in favour of PHE daily wagers and casual workers.
In a meeting of the PHE Employees Association held at PHE Complex, Udhampur today, the members expressed serious concern over the delaying tactics being adopted by the State Government. They said that their families have been left to suffer due to non-payment of their pending wages and the workers are being forced to work for no wages.
While addressing the gathering, Som Nath issued an appeal to the Governor to address the long pending issue of the PHE workers as previous two Governments have failed to provide them justice. They are being victimized and harassed for their no fault.
Som Nath further demanded that SRO 520 should be implemented without any delay, the shortage of the staff be removed at the pumping / water stations and offices, designation of the employees be changed and named as per the nature of job, DPC of various cadre be held shortly, discrimination with Jammu PHE employees be stopped and Medical allowance of the employees and pensioners be enhanced from Rs 300 to Rs 2000 per month.
The INTUC leader lauded the decision to frame PHE United Front in Jammu province and appealed the Front to take strong decisions in favour of PHE employees.
Senior trade unionists- Vijay Kumar, Dinesh Kesar, Baldev Raj, Balbir Singh, Chuni Lal, Prem Nath and others were also present.
