Release pending salaries of employees: Tarigami

JAMMU, Apr 11: CPI (M) leader and MLA Kulgam Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami today cautioned the Government that widespread resentment was brewing up among thousands of casual labourers, daily wagers and SSA teachers in the State as they have not been paid their wages and salaries for the past several months.
In a statement issued here, Tarigami demanded immediate release of wages and salaries of casual labours/daily wagers, SSA teachers, FMPHW and MMPHW workers to enable them to shoulder their family responsibilities.
“The casual labourers, daily wagers in all departments, SSA teachers, ASHA and Anganwari workers, FMPHW and MMPHW numbering in thousands, have not been paid their wages for the past several months. These workers were expecting that their salaries would be released immediately after PDP-BJP forms the Government but unfortunately these workers have been put to more sufferings and Government seems least bothered about their plight,” Tarigami observed.
He said despite repeated reminders through deputations, demonstrations the successive Governments have failed to evolve a mechanism wherein these workers will get their wages and salaries on time without any hassles.
“The present Government must clear their pending dues, which has created uncertainty among the ranks of workers and other employees working under various Centrally sponsored schemes,” Tarigami said while stressing on special budgetary provision to tackle this problem once for all.
