Relaxation in LTC facility

In lieu of visiting one’s hometown under Leave Travel Concession (LTC) facility, the periodicity of which is in the Rules, it has now been decided that the Government employees entitled to the LTC facility and having fallen due for availing the same can do so by visiting Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, North Eastern Region and Andaman and Nicobar Islands in economy class by air. This relaxation has been extended up to Sept 25, 2022. The move by the Government must surely be welcome by the Government employees. The desirous employees can, if they so wish, even travel by private airlines as against mandatorily by the state owned Air India.
The facility once in four years availed of by the Government employees to visit the above mentioned places has been extended for a period of two years ending Sept 25, 2022. However, those employees whose hometown fell in these areas were not eligible for the extended LTC period. A good facility provided by the Government to the employees should be availed of by them and the destinations visited which besides these destinations getting known by them shall give them a feel of a comparative difference in terms of the natural beauty and spots within worth visiting. This can be done by converting one Home Town entitlement in a four years due.
