JAMMU, Aug 26: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) district president Jammu, South, Rekha Mahajan, inaugurated Public AYUSH Awareness and Promotion Cum Medical Health Checkup Camp for women in collaboration with Directorate of Ayush, J&K, “Har Ghar Ayush” at  Belicharana area of Gandhi Nagar Mandal, Bahu Assembly constituency in district Jammu, South today.
The camp was organized by Mahila Morcha district Jammu South, president, Divya Jain. The Morcha team and the Mandal team under the Mahila Outreach Programme starting from August 26 to September 5.
Rekha Mahajan accompanied by Narinder Koki district vice president, district secretary, Prabhari Mahila Morcha, Amit Sharma, district secretary, Pummi Choudhary, Mandal president, Bharat Bhushan, general secretary, Suraj Raina, Meetu Sharma, Susheela Sharma, Amrica Devi, Anita Shan, Daler Devi, Shivali and others were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Rekha Mahajan said under the charismatic leadership of PM Narendra Modi various schemes were launched for the welfare of women. She urged people to “have a look” at AYUSH Ministry’s initiatives. She said women’s good health is the harbinger of happiness. Rekha said that everyone should adopt herbal medicines and enhance their body immunity as a part of a proactive measure to fight against several diseases.
Rekha briefed the inhabitants and party workers about AYUSH systems in health promotion and disease prevention. She emphasized over impact and instrumental role of Ayurveda in the daily lives of human beings ever since it has evolved. She elaborated that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has appealed to everyone to boost immunity by following the guidelines laid by the Ministry of AYUSH. These guidelines are based on Ayurveda and help in maintaining a healthy and happy life.
Rekha also commended the efforts of the Ayush Department which has taken proactive steps in this regard and has planned for various activities on this day by providing free Ayurvedic health care services for the patients especially women of diabetes by organizing health check-up camps and public lectures for creating awareness in public regarding diabetes, etc.
