JAMMU, Mar 16: All Displaced Kashmiri United Front (ADKUF) in its meeting here today held under the chairmanship of D N Kissu discussed the problems being faced by displaced Pandits and the action taken by the Government to resolve them.
Kissu, while turning tables on Government alleged it is deliberately overlooking these problems or has always exhibited half -hearted approach towards the welfare of the community because the community is not united though its aspirations and aim is common.
Chief advisor of the Forum Prof G L Koul pointed out that in many cases the cultivable land to its legal owners has not been restored and even the nominal compensation has also been denied to them which speaks volumes about the Government’s callousness towards the community. Besides, in connivance with the Revenue officials the migrants land at various places has been transferred to the unknown persons.
President of the Forum P L Sudeshi demanded allotment of quarters displaced families living in rented accommodations. He also demanded constitution of Minority Commission to look into the problems of the KPs who are a minority in the State.
Highlighting the problems of the community P N Raina general secretary of the Forum demanded settlement of community at a single place in the Valley. He also demanded constitution of a Commission to expose those responsible for ethnic cleansing in Valley.
Phoola Bhat president Women Wing of the Forum alleged that Pandits have been deprived of all Government schemes while Sat Lal Bhat condemned soft approach of successive Governments towards separatists.
J N Pandita appealed the community organizations to come under one umbrella for their rights while Vijay Kumar Raina demanded simplifying the voting process for migrants.
Hira Lal Adalti, C L Koul, M L Koul, B K Pandit and others also addressed the meeting.
