SRINAGAR, Feb 24: The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Front (J&K PDF) president and former Minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen has called upon Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to use brute majority of his party to regularise thousands of daily wagers left unregulated for decades and ban liquor over which political parties are consistently playing politics for last several decades.
In a statement issued here today Hakeem said actions speak louder than words and called upon Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to fulfill his pre-election commitments through bold actions particularly on regularisation of thousands of daily wagers and liquor ban besides 200 units free power and 12 gas cylinders a year in the upcoming Budget session of the Assembly.
Stating that almost all the previous regimes promised to regularise thousands of daily wagers still retiring and dying as daily wagers and ban liquor but did not translate words into actions in last several decades of popular rule. Hakeem hoped that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will take decisive actions to regularise thousands of daily wagers and ban liquor to end decades of exploitation in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said cries of political leaders trying to get political mileage both on regularisation of daily wagers and as well as liquor ban can be silenced only by decisive actions in the upcoming Budget session of the Assembly.
