SRINAGAR, Mar 16: In a bid to streamline the water supply system in the Srinagar division, the Executive Engineer of the Jal Shakti department, Ishfaq Ahmad today urged consumers to register their water connections and make online payments for their bills.
He said that the move is aimed at promoting transparency and efficiency in the billing process, while also ensuring that consumers have access to uninterrupted water supply. “Those who are yet to register their water connection should upload the required documents online on the website of the department and those whose connections are registered should pay their bills online within the next seven days,” he said.
He added that the water usage bills are now live on the department’s website and urged all registered consumers to pay their bills using their consumer ID. “There is a moral and religious dimension to it as we have to be good citizens by paying the fees. The religious thing is that before praying, we wash with the same water,” he said.
The Executive Engineer further advised registered consumers to pay their bills online within the next seven days and to contact the office or helpline numbers in case of any issues.
