KISHTWAR, Mar 26: Expressing concern over scrambling and pathetic condition of Jammu Region, State President, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Front (JKDF) and candidate for Doda-Udhampur-Kathua Parliamentary constituency, Anil Gupta said regional discrimination and other disparities during the regime of NC-Congress coalition is at its peak and this dispensation has been unjust and unfair to all the people residing in different areas.
While holding series of publics meetings at Palmar, Pattimala, Mughal Maidan, Phakrai and Chhatroo here, Gupta accused Congress Party of playing dubious role, one in State coalition and other in public. He said, it is an irony that the Congress Party, which in their Election Manifesto of 2008 had promised empowerment of the basic democracies by implementation of 73rd and 74th Amendment of Indian Constitution to this State, for sharing power with the National Conference, which is having its own outlook to distance this State form rest of the country, is prepared even to act as B-Team of such an outlook.
He alleged that Jammu region has been denied due representation in the State Assembly and the Resolutions as also the Bills of the opposition for having fresh delimitation of Assembly Constituencies, were opposed by this coalition.
NC and PDP are pursuing the agenda of separatists and at the same time Congress has given a new lease of life to “separatist forces”, by their ineptitude and wrong appeasement policies. Terming these groups dangerous for the integrity of State, Anil Gupta pointed out that these groups despite their separate ideologies have often joined hands only just to exploit the people and create the situations like that of 2008, 2010 and recent riots of Kishtwar in July 9, 2013.
Gupta reiterated that JKDF is the only party which shall take up the issues of this region effectively and represent the true aspirations of people in the Parliament.
