Sir,
Refer news item ‘Approved by CM in 2016, Regional Cultural Centres yet to be established DE Feb 22.
The art connoisseurs in the State were quite delighted when announcement regarding these cultural centres was made by none else then the State Chief Minister. It was expected that the State art and culture will get a huge filip with the opening of the these centres. Jammu and Kashmir is a culturally diversified State, with people of different races, cultures and faiths living in three different climatic zones. The J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages which is premise body in the State to promote art, culture and languages is not in a position to cater the needs of all the cultural groups of the State due to its limited horizon. Keeping this shortcoming in view, it was decided to open more centres to accommodate more people for promotion of art culture and languages of the State.
The Government must attach importance to the issue and issue instructions for early opening of these Centres.
Yours etc…
