Refugee Front to contest Assembly polls

JAMMU, Nov 17: Strongly condemning  the  Government of India’s action of sending back proposed rehabilitation package, recommended by the State Government,  for refugees of PoJK, 1947, Chamb 1947, 65 and 71, J&K Refugee Front has announced to announced to contest Assembly elections for teaching BJP a lesson.
“Since all the political parties have failed  to mitigate our grievance and sufferings pending for the last 67 years and have ignored the PoJK 1947, refugees, “We the PoJK refugees have decided to contest State Assembly elections on our own and  teach them a  lesson,  particularly BJP,” said K L Sudan, leader of J&K Refugee Front, while talking to media persons, here today.
Another refugee leader Om Prakash Khajuria said  all the displaced  families felt highly dejected on the  Government of India’s action of sending back proposed package. “It took 67 years long period to convince J&K Government to formulate package and forward it to Government of India, led by BJP but with one stroke of pen, the Union Government has returned the package of Rs  9096/- crores linking it with West Pakistani refugees,” he lamented.
Dr  Padam Raina, secretary MJR,  said that the community was sympathetic with the  West Pakistan refugees but their case was  entirely different and needed separate consideration. “By linking  case of West Pakistan refugees with genuine legitimate resident of J&K State comprising of DPs of PoJK 1947 from Muzaffarabad, Poonch and Mirpur as also of Chamb of 1947, 65 and 1971, the intention of Government of India is to tactically delay the sanction of this package,” he alleged.
