UDHAMPUR, Apr 8: A five-day refresher course for the officers and officials of the CID wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Police began at the Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) here today.
A statement said that a total of 25 officers and officials would be participating in the training programme that was inaugurated by Rajinder Kumar Gupta, SSP, Deputy Director (Indoor), SKPA.
In his inaugural address, Gupta welcomed the participants on behalf of the Director, SKPA and emphasized that intelligence is the backbone of the Police Department.
He highlighted the critical role the law enforcement agencies play in maintaining public order and safety, enforcing laws, and preventing, detecting, and investigating the criminal activities.
He further claimed that the effective use and analysis of the intelligence is essential for combating the criminal networks and provides the strategic insight needed for efficient crime management.
Gupta reiterated that the fundamental duty of the police is to serve the humanity and safeguard the lives and property of the citizens.
“To understand and combat internal security threats, it is imperative to adopt appropriate intelligence methodologies,” he said. Pertinently, the course is being coordinated by Inspector Kuldeep Krishan, with assistance from Head Constable Randip Singh.
