They said, 50 PoK residents, including 18 women and 12 children, arrived at Kaman post after crossing the Amen Setu, peace bridge on foot. This was the highest number of PoK guests during 2016. Earlier highest was 33 on April 2. However, there was no Kashmiri returnee as during the past four weeks only one resident of this side crossed to other side on June 20.
Meanwhile, no Kashmiri resident crossed over to other side. However, 11 resident of POK returned to their homes after completing stay here with their relatives.
The number of PoK guests increases during summer and goes down in winter because of sub zero temperature here.

The bus service, introduced on April 7,2005 has helped thousands of families divided in 1947 to meet each other. The service was started for divided families after both India and Pakistan agreed to allow them to travel on ” Travel Permits” instead of International passports. (agencies)
