REASI, Aug 30: The body of 17-year-old girl Kajal, who had jumped into river Chenab from Reasi bridge last evening, was recovered from the bank of river Chenab in Pargwal area of tehsil Akhnoor this morning.
A villager noticed the body lying at the river bank and informed police. The police party rushed to the area and removed it to the Akhnoor hospital. Later, Reasi police was informed. The family members of the girl also reached there. They identified the body. After conducting legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family for last rites.
Meanwhile, the body of her boy- friend Hardev Singh (25), who had also jumped into the river with girl was still untraced. The police said that all the police stations have been informed and the search was going on.
