UDHAMPUR, Mar 26: Jammu and Kashmir Cooperatives Union Limited under the guidance of Minister for Cooperatives and Ladakh Affairs, Chering Dorjay today organized one day awareness camp at Kishanpur here.
Underlining the role of various cooperative societies in employment generation, the Minister said that the need of the hour is to make the unemployed educated youth aware about the important schemes of the department. The benefits that cooperatives offer to the individuals for professional growth are many including elimination of middlemen, mutual cooperation, limited liability, ease of registration, financial assistance and economic democracy, he added.
The Minister further emphasized on the need for holding more such awareness programmes in the rural areas so as to make aware the common masses about the developmental opportunities in the field of cooperatives.
He also highlighted various schemes of the department that focus on development and strengthening of agriculture and its allied sector and asked the farmers to avail benefits of these schemes.
Registrar Cooperative Societies, Bashir Ahmed Bhat, Chairman Cooperatives Union Limited, Rajesh Sharma, Additional Registrar Cooperatives Jammu, Anjana Tikku, General Secretary Cooperative Union G.D Bakshi, Deputy Registrar Naresh Kumar besides a large number of common masses attended the camp.
