It is in reference to my earlier letter ‘Realization of power tariff’.
The given suggestion to PDD for consideration to change the date of payment of Electric dues from 27th of every month to Ist week of following month does not seem to have suited the Deptt. for the reasons best known to them.
Yet another suggestion, which normally should suit the Deptt., may be considered for implementation. The date of payment of electric dues may continue to remain as 27th of every month but the one week’s time from 27th onwards i.e. 28th of current month to 2-3rd of the following month may be treated as grace period for payment of dues without any additional charges as penalty.
As far as it can be understandable, this simple modification of terms for payment of dues can prove to be beneficial for both consumer and the Deptt. While the consumer will get some extra days to conveniently make the payment during the beginning of next month, the Deptt. will receive enhanced revenue at the consumer’s convenient option.
It is hoped that the Deptt. would like to consider the suggestion for giving a much desired relief to consumers which in turn will give boost to realization of its revenue at an enhanced difference enabling the Deptt. to clear its liabilities.
