JAMMU, Apr 9: A readymade shop and its adjacent ice-cream parlour got gutted in fire due to short circuit near Jalebi Morh of Subash Nagar area, resulting into loss of property worth several lakhs.
As per police sources, due to electric short-circuit, readymade shop and its adjacent ice-cream parlour near Jalebi Morh in Subash Nagar got gutted in fire.
After getting information, police reached the spot and informed the Department of Fire and Emergency Services.
After putting hectic efforts, fire fighters brought the fire under control, but till then property worth lakhs got gutted.
No loss of life or injury has been reported in the incident, while the exact loss could not be ascertained yet.
Police has registered a case in this regard and investigation started.
Meanwhile, MLA Sat Sharma also reached the spot and talked to DC Jammu demanding compensation for the sufferers.
