NEW DELHI, Dec 29:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said his Government is determined to move away from the culture of delay and confusion to that of responsibility and ownership ensuring that India achieves a balanced growth to its full potential.
Winding up a day-long high level Government workshop attended by senior ministers, secretaries from Centre and states besides industry leaders, the Prime Minister said his Government is ready to change laws, alter system and procedures for achieving a success for the Make in India programme world over with zero defects and zero environmental effect.
He also placed emphasis on achieving equal growth in the eastern parts of the country as in the western states. “How is it that the coal is produced in eastern states and electricity generated in the west,” he wondered.
Mr Modi said when he assumed office he found different Government departments working in silos. To a large extent he is been able to break these silos not within the Government but also outside it reaching out to the industry and other stakeholders.
He said the Government generally has a culture of ABCD- Avoid, Bypass, Confuse, and Delay.
“Our effort is to move away from the ABCD culture to ROAD- Responsibility, Ownership, Accountability, Discipline. We want to move on this roadmap.”
The Prime Minister said today’s workshop has demonstrated how the Public-Private Partnership works in the real sense of the meaning so that it can be taken beyond commercial space and extended to decision making as well. It also shows how the concept of minimum Government and maximum governance works. (AGENCIES)
