UDHAMPUR Jan 13: Prov-incial President National Conference Devender Singh Rana today urged the cadre to launch a Mass Contact Programme and reach out to the masses. He said a political worker must always remain prepared for an electoral battle moreso when the political system in the State is unstable.
Addressing the district office bearers of National Conference District Udhampur, Rana said time has come when the cadre should appreciate their designated role and reach out to the people by enhancing mass contact outreach, identify their problems and seek their resolution at appropriate levels, adding that the people cannot be left in lurch.
Exuding confidence about agility of the cadre, the Provincial President said that a duty has cast upon each worker, even in the remotest corner of the State, to gear up for any political eventuality. He said National Conference is the only party having its presence in nook and corner of the State and therefore there is no reason for the people to feel alienated or isolated.
Mr Rana asked the party functionaries to close their ranks and remain in a state of readiness always.
The workers meeting had been convened to pay tributes to a senior functionary S. Kehar Singh on his Tenth Day ceremony. A two-minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
Describing S. Kehar Singh a prominent grass roots level leader, the Provincial President recalled his contribution in strengthening National Confere-nce and striving for upliftment of the people.
