Numerous complaints have been sent in by different people about corruption and misuse of power by the Rajouri Development Authority. These complaints came to the State Vigilance Organization stating that the RDA had been indulging in gross irregularities in the distributing the work worth lakhs of rupees to labourers and their organizations. While considering a PIL in this connection the Division Bench of the High Court had ordered action against the CEO of the RDA, who happens to be an IAS officer. This notwithstanding, the Government has been shifting this officer from one plum post to another. Following completion of verification into the complaint Vigilance Organization, while establishing irregularities, wrote to the General Administration Department on July 3, 2015 requesting for initiation of regular departmental action against the then CEO Rajouri Development Authority and presently Excise Commissioner J&K. However, departmental enquiry has not been concluded by Tourism Department and concerned authorities are soft paddling with the matter. The officer continues to hold important position in the administration which is contrary to the directives of the Apex Court.
