JAMMU, June 4: To meet the emerging challenges in talent acquisition for global sustainability, Rayat Bahra University has launched cutting edge undergraduate and postgraduate programmes by signing MoUs with international companies like Oracle, Google, Apple, IBM, BSE and TDS for training students of B Tech and MBA in new age programmes.
This was informed by Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chairman of the Rayat Bahra Group of Institutions, while talking to media persons, here today in Jammu.
“RBU wants its students to learn the latest technologies to be competitive and industry ready. With this vision, we have tied up with different international companies and introduced new age programmes to increase the employment potential of the students completing the new B Tech and MBA courses,” he said.
While elaborating, he said that curriculum of the new programmes, being launched by the RBU, is to be based on industry focus. “There would be emphasis on domain skill, soft skill, industry interface as part of curriculum. In the new programmes examination and evaluation system: would be credit based continuous evaluation grading system which is accepted nationally and internationally. There would be special focus on entrepreneurship skill development with international exposure,” he explained.
Dr Sandeep Kaura, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Rayat Bahra University, who accompanied the Chairman, listed some of the highlights of the new programmes, which included employment, appointment of Joint committee for placements with members from Company and RBU including students and faculty of respective schools, governing councils to guide and execution of activities agreed, Joint governance council for each course, etc. “Senior level officials from the companies would be members of advisory boards to be constituted for overseeing and reviewing the training programmes,” he added.
He said that RBU has joined Oracle University under the Oracle Workforce Development Programme (WDP), launching three specialized degree programmes using Oracle technologies: Oracle Database and Analytics, Java and Oracle IoT (Internet of Things), and Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
The Pro-VC further informed that the Rayat Bahra University has decided to start two new courses, BSc Agriculture and Diploma in Agriculture from the coming academic session as these will focus not only on the knowledge of the fertilizers and pesticides but also on the technology associated with it.
Pertinent to mention that the Rayat-Bahra Group has more than 55 Institutes, 6000 employees, more than 35 thousand students in five Multi-Disciplinary campuses and two global universities in India.
Besides, the Group has two International campuses in USA and UK.
