JAMMU, Nov 7: Foreign Exchange Department of RBI, Srinagar (Jammu RO) organized customer service meeting at RBI office, Srinagar under the chairmanship of DK Kashyap, Deputy General Manager, FED, Jammu RO on Monday.
The meeting was attended by senior officials of all the authorized dealers operating in the State, FFMCs, representative of other agencies and a sizeable number of forex customers.
Rakesh Raina, incharge of Srinagar office welcomed the participants. In his key note address, Kashyap highlighted the importance of facilitating smooth business in the area of forex and role of officials of AD branches in facilitating business of forex customers. He emphasized the need of monitoring of export outstanding and role of banks in marking off realized export outstanding in the relevant software packages so that customers do not face inconvenience of getting caution listed.
He exhorted the authorized dealers to educate their customers about various facilities available to exporters, importers, travelers, businessmen, tourists etc. without contravening the provisions of the FEMA, 1999. In the area of FDI reporting, he underlined the need of timely reporting in e biz platform to avoid contravention of FEMA which results in compounding and inconvenience to customers.
Prashant Bahl, Manager, FED, Srinagar made a presentation on e-biz and other software packages for customers. Customers shared their experiences and also raised queries which were answered by the RBI/ADs. The Customers thanked RBI for holding this meeting at Srinagar and desired that more such events should be organized in future.
