RBI organises workshop for lead district managers

JAMMU, June 19:  The workshop of Lead District Managers (LDMs) of Jammu and Kashmir State was organized by RBI Jammu. The workshop was inaugurated by P. Shimrah, Officer-in-Charge for Jammu & Kashmir, in which LDMs of J & K Bank and SBI participated.
In his inaugural address, Shimrah highlighted the importance of Lead Bank Scheme and the important role being played by LDMs. He impressed upon the need of concerted efforts and commitment for development of the State. He exhorted that LDMS must be aware of   potential in their area, prepare grass root planning and coordinate with Government agencies and fellow bankers to increase the credit disbursement.
They should involve all stake holders to make planning more meaningful and effective.  He also advised LDMs to initiate steps to increase CD ratio to 60% by March 2018.
In his welcome address, Satya Narain, DGM, FIDD, RBI reiterated the significance of LDMs in coordination with Government agencies and financial institutions to increase credit disbursement.
The workshop covered topics on Lead Bank Scheme, SHGs, JLGs, Potential Link Plans, Priority Sector, Financial Inclusion Plans, and Business Correspondents etc.  Faculty from RBI, NABARD and J & K SLBC   provided inputs to the participants.  Besides, representative from NPCI took session on Digitalization with special reference to UPI.
