JAMMU, Oct 12: Stating that it was impossible for an employee to perform in an atmosphere of fear, Jammu and Kashmir BJP Chief- Ravinder Raina assured the protesting Package employees that their genuine demands would be addressed soon.
Addressing protesting employees here on Wednesday, Raina said that working in such hostile atmosphere is impossible and hence hard and fast rules in such a situation have no value.
“Right to life is a fundamental right and the way targeted killings happen in Kashmir, it has created fear psychosis among the package and reserved category employees serving there,” Raina said, adding that terrorists did not even spare the teacher- Rajni Bala who taught their children with utmost commitment.
Raina said that he was in touch with concerned authorities and was hopeful that the problems of protesting employees will be resolved and their genuine demands fulfilled.
“I am here not to meet with Government employees or package or non package employees but to meet my brothers and sisters to address their concern as being head of BJP ” he said and adding that he can understood the agony suffered by employees during this period of turmoil and certainly this period will be over and their issues will get resolved by the Government.
Earlier, former MLC- Girdari Lal Raina also addressed the protesters. He expressed his hope that administration would fulfill all genuine demands of protesting employees.
“BJP is constantly raising issues of PM package employees with the Government,” he said and adding that it was BJP which has speeded up the process of filling up all posts of package employees. He also said that the party stands with the employees in every hour of crisis.
Employee leader-Rubon Ji Saproo, while addressing, said that main demands of employees protesting for over four months here in view of targeted killings by terrorists need to be fulfilled. He also demanded release of their pending salaries ahead of the festival season.
The PM package employees also organised a blood camp at the protest side and donated blood for the needy ones.
